Partnership for Reviving Routine Immunization in Northern Nigeria;
Maternal Newborn and Child Health Initiative

Welcome

In Northern Nigeria, rates of maternal, newborn and child mortality are amongst the highest in the world. We established the PRRINN-MNCH (Partnership for Reviving Routine Immunization in Northern Nigeria; Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Initiative) programme to address related health issues in the four northern states of Jigawa, Katsina, Yobe and Zamfara.

We work with the federal, state and local governments, and in close consultation with local communities, to improve the quality and availability of health services including antenatal and postnatal care, safer deliveries, care for newborns and infants, better nutrition, and routine immunization against preventable disease.

Above all, the people of the four programme states need good quality, effective Primary Health Care (PHC). Thus, PRRINN-MNCH is also working with governments and health staff to strengthen PHC services.

Our programme aims to help each state achieve significant health-related goals.
